Sepideh NourManesh is a contemporary artist whose life and artistic journey uniquely connect her Iranian roots with her experiences abroad. Born in Iran, she developed a deep connection with nature from an early age.

At the age of nine, she began her artistic education in a private summer painting program under the guidance of a teacher who was not only an accomplished painter but also a philosopher. His approach extended beyond technical instruction, encouraging a deeper engagement with observation, reflection, and the relationship between art and life. She continued her training consistently until the age of eighteen, establishing the foundation of her artistic practice. During these formative years, she focused on drawing and painting from live models, still life, and plein-air painting. Looking back, she recalls that this painting class left a lasting impression on her, evoking memories of the atmosphere of the Musée d’Orsay. The direct observation of people and nature profoundly shaped her artistic vision and continues to influence her work today.

Although she earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, her passion for art remained unwavering. She subsequently completed a master’s degree in Art Studies at a renowned art university. This academic program deepened her theoretical and scholarly understanding of art, while her practical skills in painting and drawing had already been developed through years of private training and intensive artistic practice.

Following the completion of her master’s degree, Sepideh NourManesh taught at art universities and worked at the Tehran Art Academy.

In 2020, she moved to Switzerland, where she has since lived and worked. This relocation marked a new chapter in her artistic career. In 2022, she presented her first solo exhibition in Lucerne. Since then, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs, and her work has been shown in institutions such as Kunstmuseum Luzern, Hans Erni Museum, Helmhaus, and other exhibition venues in Switzerland.

Sepideh NourManesh draws inspiration from a wide range of subjects. She develops multiple series simultaneously, exploring landscapes, female figures, hands, faces, and other motifs. Her work continuously moves between representation and abstraction, investigating the possibilities of pictorial space and visual expression.
